A man's ended up in court after downing a slab of beer then kicking in the door of a stranger's house he thought was his.

Friends of Damien Bambridge intentionally dropped him outside the wrong Ballarat house and when he couldn't open the door he kicked it in.

Before his friends could retrieve him he'd got inside and entered a bedroom.

Police were called by the terrified owner and took Bambridge home.

He's appeared in court; his lawyer calling it a practical joke that went spectacularly wrong.

The magistrate told the 21-year-old to stop drinking, found him guilty of wilful damage and fined him $600.

  • Why not go one further,Mylene, and give him honorary membership of the Labor "pardee".There are some who would say he's passed the initiation stage.
