Why Father Bob's work is so important

Father Bob

Neil Mitchell chased up a difficult story after a man, known as 'Luke 827', passed away following a long battle with mental health and drugs.

Father Bob Maguire had been helping the troubled man for around 30 years and after posting this tweet - "Must be creative & innovative cut irrational collateral damage overlooked/ignored people.I warned bosses" - Neil Mitchell chatted to Father Bob.

Another important interview that, while tough to listen to, will hopefully raise awareness to the plight of so many Australians doing it tough at the moment.

  • At least he is now at peace. Mental illness is a horrible killer, id rather break every bone in my body than having a terrifying mental illness.

  • Father Bob, I heard the interview and I've also heard you on numerous occasions before. I'm not Catholic (actually somewhere between C of E and Presbyterian, with a bit of Uniting thrown in), but you are what all churches need. An effective communicator with the people, who acts on behalf of those who need help. I wish there could be more of you. What your "superiors" are doing is simply wrong.
