Dare Denis Walter...

ABOVE: A pensive Denis ponders the thoughts of his listeners.
DETAILS: The power of talkback radio will never be matched, however, the power of the online world is becoming a major factor in getting things done.
You only have to look at the example of how one couple's Facebook group - and the more than 1 million people worldwide who joined it - sparked a 20-year-old song to become the No.1 hit in the UK over Christmas.
The group was inspired by the apparently ho hum nature of a song from Britain's Got Talent claiming No.1 during the holiday season in the four years prior to 35-year-old part-time rock DJ Jon Morter setting up his campaign.
And in the news in the past couple of days is news of the closing down of The Tote pub in Collingwood, which prompted someone to start a 'Save The Tote' Facebook group which has attracted nearly 6,000 members since its creation yesterday.
So why bring all of this up?
3AW Afternoons' production team wants you to dare Denis Walter to do something he might not otherwise, the kicker being if the group gets over 500 members - Denis will have a crack at the dare.
We will be taking calls today on 96900693 or 13 13 32 if outside of Melbourne and we want to hear what you think Denis should do.
Sky dive? Bungee jump? Use his beautiful voice to busk in the CBD for charity? You name it - he might do it! If you can not call today to give your idea, leave a suggestion in the blog below or email dwalter@3aw.com.au.
We will decide on the 'dare' next week - then we will set up a Facebook group for you to try and inspire Denis to get out of his comfirt zone.
Some of the suggestions on-air Friday:
- Denis Walter and Ernie Sigley to mud wrestle
- Denis Walter and the Friday Lunch boys to do their segment from a plane flown by Darren James.
- Denis Walter to busk for charity - wearing a Collingwood jumper

Hi there, I'm Jon Morter who was the guy who got Rage Against The Machine to Christmas No.1 here in the UK, and beat The X-Factor's 4 year stronghold of the top spot.
I dare Denis to blag me over to Melbourne so that (1) i can visit my granmother in Mt. Eliza (2) So I visit my friend Joe Dolce who I'm trying to help him get another No.1 here, and (3) so I can come on your show! ;-)
Well...you've got to ask haven't you?
Jon
