What we're talking about

The worst break-up stories

Posted by: 3AW Afternoons | 19 November, 2009 - 12:34 PM

ABOVE: Jennifer bravely came on air to reveal to 3AW's Denis Walter how a man broke up with her earlier this week after what she described as a good weekend with her boyfriend of two or so months.

After the shocking story prompted a number of calls with more bad break-up stories, the man who sent the email decided to phone Denis Walter to explain his actions on air.

"Well, aren't we talking about my actions here ... isn't this about me," said Chris.

Do you either have a message for Chris? Or perhaps you have your own break-up story you'd like to share.

Your story may be read out on-air.

Rowntree fired up over break-up

Catriona Rowntree TV star Catriona Rowntree delivered a stinging editorial directed at 'Chris', who had earlier defended his decision to break up with Jennifer - a woman brave enough to tip in the apparent love rat. Listen to Rowntree's 'Neil Mitchell audition' by clicking the image on the right.

  • One day I texted my boyfriend on my phone because I wanted to know if he had any fish food. He said "no. ...." I said what's wrong? he said "I've been thinking" I knew that was bad. He said how he thinks he cant be in a relationship anymore. we are taking it too fast and that he always ends up not liking the girl he's with. That's not the worse of it though... he asked me out on a date for saturday the day before.
Even after the break up he does things to get on my nerves...
I simply told him the girl that used to cry over assholes like him died... I killed her and now only I remain... He got upset... Oh well :)

  • Chris, you are a self centered, egotistical, egocentric, self absorbed little man. Jennifer, you sound like a very charming, level headed, caring individual. You deserved a lot better. If anything, he did you a favour, but I totally disagree with the execution.

  • Steve, u have an opinion on everything, which isn't a bad thing per say, but with all the work u do & your very active social life, HOW DO U FIND THE TIME TO RING 3AW 5 times a day? Can u give us all a break (up!); u don't vote but endlessly call in with any blah about government - u r a hypocrite. I was sick in bed one sunday & was listenening to dennis walter - u rang in for the naturopath, car guy, quiz, finance bloke...u r the most ARROGANT & ANNOYING VOICE ON RADIO!!! Be merciful & HEAR THIS PLEA! SHUT UP FOR ONCE!

history is filled with these sort of experiences and its not always by males.
lets face it hun, humans are soemtimes incapable of saying what they really feel so they act it out in a way thats not a good way
running away rather then facing it...avoidance rather confronting

sure the world would be filled with happier people if they knew why their partners left them or rejected them and sometimes the truth is hard to hear so perhaps in hes own way he thoguht he was avoiding hurting you by telling you the truth
    so
in actual face jennifer you should walk away from this stronger in knowing he did it for you and dont see it as a cold heartless way of dumping you...hes hurting too he simply could deal with it
in time hell realise what he did wrong and say sorry but by then you both would of moved
    on with your lives
    cheers

  • Most Men are gutless when it comes to breaking up, opting to run and hide rather than face the cosequences. I find it hard to believe there was no writing on the wall. Was jennifer a little naive caught up in a fantasy of wanting love so badly? In any case a 3 month relationship warrants a face to face breakup.

  • I agree with his sentiment, but not the execution. He should have at least rung after having thought about it all the way home!
