Winner of the February 2012 Momentum/3AW Small Business Award

We are pleased to advise that the winner of the February 2012 3AW Momentum Awards is:

The Excell Dance Centre

Peter wrote: 13 years ago while operating my real estate agency, my wife and I started taking our 6 children to private dance lessons. The Dance studio was in a very small town over an hour away and the children progressed to competition level. Each Friday my wife would pick the kids up from school and travel to the town for the lessons and competitions. She would book a caravan and return with the children on Sunday night. This went on for 3 years. Not much fun on the family stakes but a great passion for the children and something that we wanted to support them in doing.

I decided to open my own dance school in my home town of Shepparton. We employed teachers and as the business took off, I also learned to dance and began teaching newcomers.

I have since gone on to become a full accredited coach and adjudicator, sold my real estate business and now work full time in teaching. Two of my children have gone on to national and international achievements. The business continues to prosper.
