Charity of the week: Olivia Newton-John cherishes an adorable, cuddly teddy bear given to her by the Langham Hotel which is hosting it’s inaugural Teddy Bear’s Picnic these school holidays. Baby cinos, sweet treats and other yummy goodies are served, with part proceeds going to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Centre.

“This is truly the role of a lifetime” says Joanna Cole, star of the new musical chronicling the life of Mary McKillop. The show, with a 25 piece orchestra, hits The Besen Centre in Burwood next month to co-incide with the canonization of Australia’s first saint.

Singer Diesel is taking seven of his favorite guitars on the road, after completing an eight day recording session for a new album. The recording won’t be out until next year but the talented artist reveals, “There’s influence from Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young and B.B.King."

Crowds continue to flock to Titanic: The Artefact Exhibition, so the Melbourne Museum season is extended until Sunday November 7th. Perhaps curators are hoping to attract tourists flooding in for the Spring Racing Carnival.

For those who didn’t make the cut for Channel Ten’s Junior Masterchef, the call is out for contestants for a new ABC3 game show called What do you know? Filming starts mid next month and applicants, aged between 12 and 15, must know loads of quirky stuff on topics such as Bollywood dancing, whales, cooking and so on.

A host of established designers and relative newcomers are vying for the 2010 Caulfield Classic Style Award.15 entrants including Feathers, Arabella Ramsay and Perri Cutten, will unveil their creations at Underwood Stakes Day on Saturday in a bid to impress the judges.

Spotted: Cancer survivor and former Australian Idol judge Mark Holden taking a leisurely stroll along a south-east surburban shopping strip. Perhaps he’s stopping to smell the roses, or carnations, as the case may be.
