PRIZE FOR THIS WEEK’S COMPETITION (Scroll down for how to enter): The Bill Farewell (Shock DVD – 141 minutes running time)

Quote of the week:“You gotta try it,” said celebrity chef Matt Moran to Princess Mary as he convinced the royal to break protocol and actually eat in public. He was referring to a superb spanner crab salad he had whipped up at a cooking demo. (The Princess even had seconds)

Whisper: Elton John has arrived in Australia, with his family, for his tour but the living legend won’t be staying in Melbourne despite his concert dates here. He’ll be jetting back to Sydney after every single gig.

Spotted: It was a cup of a different kind that champion jockey Damian Oliver had his eye on. He was enjoying a quiet day in the Crown Lager Suite at the President’s Cup at Royal Melbourne.

Geoffrey Edelsten has procured support from an unexpected quarter. Former Carlton great Stephen Kernahan (apparently they’re mates) will be special guest for the launch of the doctor’s book Enigma this week. Where else but a Lamborghini showroom for a book launch?

Miss Universe Australia Scherri-lee Biggs took a back seat, watching on as glam models strutted in itsy-bitsy bathing suits for the bikini parade at the launch of “Star spotting in St Tropez” at the Sofitel. The photographic exhibition, which includes amazing candid celebrity shots, runs until January 31st.

Spotted: Comedian Jimeoin enjoying a string of Dolly Parton hits at the country star’s Rod Laver Arena concert. The jury is still out on whether the superstar gets a little help in the vocal department for some of her songs.

Beware auto-correct on your phone when tweeting. Bubbly Winners and Losers actor Melissa Bergland was caught out when tweeting: @papierdolls Best part of getting my hair colluded, double head message!

Tweet of the week: “ @TheRickiLee Pretty sure our cab driver is pissed…”

Whether a fan or not of Celebrity Apprentice, you have to credit a television show which raises 540 thousand dollars for different charities. Winner Julia Morris says, “One of the most fun, exhausting, rewarding, confronting, insane and profoundly positive life-changing experiences I have ever had.”

Charity of the week: Motherhood the Musical at the Atheneum is putting on a special show this Thursday to raise money for PANDA, which helps those suffering post natal depression.
