PRIZE FOR THIS WEEK’S COMPETITION (Scroll down for how to enter): The Guard ( DVD) starring Brendan Gleeson and Don Cheedle (out on December 22nd)

What do Aussie stars want for Christmas?

Comedian Julia Morris says “ I want the standard classics: a fur, a Bentley, diamonds and bags and bags of cash. I don’t think that’s too much to ask for.”

Channel Nine’s Giaan Rooney says “ Christmas is a tough one. There are so many things that I like that are out of anyone’s price range. If I could get my family to win the lotto and then buy me a present, that would be great. I’d love an i-pad and I desperately need a new watch.”

Actor Madeline West (Underbelly, Neighbours) says “ I really want one of those little hand-held vacs. I seem to spend my life on my hands and knees with the dustpan and brush. If I could have one of the those little things, rip it off the wall and zip, zip and suck up all the mess, I’d be a happy woman.”

Stephen Curry (who’s been filming new feature Save Your Legs in Melbourne before heading to India after Christmas) says “ I’d like Bob Saget (US comedian) under my tree”. Not Saget from now but the one from ‘Full House.”

Masterchef George Calombaris says it’s an exciting time of year since it’s his son’s first Christmas and he’s prepared for all his family to spoil five month old James. “He sits in his bouncer gazing at the Christmas tree and decorations.”

Spotted: A determined looking Oscar winner Geoffrey Rush jumping out of a cab in South Melbourne.

Spotted: AFL chief Andrew Demetriou shopping (perhaps picking up some pressies for Christmas?) at Chadstone shopping centre.

Dogs in Space director Richard Lowenstein is hard at work, clocking up two years of following Father Bob McGuire around for an upcoming feature film. Lowenstein was part of a riveting Q and A at ACMI at the weekend, presented by the Australian Film Critics Association.

Spotted: Richmond’s Dustin Martin at Westfield Doncaster Shopping Centre.

Winners and Losers stunner Melanie Vallejo sweetly requested that she and her mother be popped into adjacent dressing rooms at ZARA in the city so they could check out each other’s potential buys during a fashion shopping spree.

Tweet of the week: @jackiecollins Whats up with E mail Xmas cards?? What the hell r u supposed to do with them?
