Mother terrorised by truckie
A mother with a baby in the car has described how a truck cut her off in the rain on Sunday night then deliberately blocked her path in a terrifying road rage incident.
It happened the Western Freeway, near Ballan.
The truck tail-gated her, finally passed, then slowed down to a stop and finally reversed towards her.
"Kathy" has told Neil Mitchell she was so terrified she called triple-zero.
Police have questioned a man about the incident.

There are too many angry drivers in the transport industry and this is a classic example. I have driven this piece of road more times than i care to remember and have a fairly good idea of what happened. Its not a good hill to run off if there is nowhere to go,my B double if i let it run off unchecked can easily reach speeds of 140 plus in a very short space. I was on this part of the freeway about 2 hours after it happened it was dark and raining and for someone not used to conditions like that it can be scary. The lady said she was just under the 110 speed limit, in this case the truck must have been speeding to catch her and the fault of this incident lies with him. I have been in this industry for 20 years and logged over 1.6 million k's and clowns like this bloke give us a bad name. If everybody thought i could die doing this before they turned the key we would have a lot safer roads.

Has anyone seen the movie DUEL by Steven Spielberg. That truck driver is crazy like the truck driver in the movie. The truck driver should watch that movie and see how frighten Dennis Weaver was and how crazy the truck driver was to tailgate him!

That's a very nice story that lady told on the radio, full of drama and suspense, and terror. If it is true, perhaps she needs to look at what she could have done to be part of the solution rather than part of the problem, and avoid the entire episode by not travelling in the right lane unless overtaking, and keeping herself out of the way of faster vehicles and harms way.

She says that she was doing "a little under 110", trucks are speed limited to 100, if she was doing "a little under 110" how did he overtake her?
More likely she was yet another person who thinks they own the road and can sit in what ever lane they like and do what ever speed they feel like.
And as for the story of the truck stopping in the right hand lane and blocking her and the reversing, she said her self that it was very busy that night, why was there no other 000 calls and no one coming forward to back up her story, from what she said he pretty much blocked the whole freeway to stop her from passing but no one else reported it?? OK!Brett Tuesday 26 July, 2011 - 5:45 PM -
Drivers who get annoyed by cars in the right lane are saying "get out off my way I want to exceed the speed limit and you are stopping me". I have travelled at 115k's in the right lane. ( don"t tell anyone) and have still had drivers tailgating me to move.
