Police helped track a stolen BMW driving erratically through Glen Iris, Camberwell, Richmond and Collingwood.

The stolen car was travelling at almost 200 kilometres per hour at one point, with police having to ram the vehicle to ensure the public was safe.

The five teenage boys aged between 14 to 17 were allegedly carrying machetes and were arrested at the scene.
