EDITOR'S PICKS:
John, July 18: "Five couples having dinner last night talking about the election. I asked the women who they would vote for. Julia, of course, they chimed in unison. Why, I asked? Because she's a woman, they all agreed. But what about her policies, I asked? And for the first time that evening, all five women couldn't think of a word to say. That about sums it up doesn't it?"

I say Vote Family First in the Local area. They won't get in due to numbers and then vote the party of your choice in second. That way the 2 big parties will get the shake up they deserve....
At the very least don't vote liberal in the senate as they already have a good majority up there. I am not a Liberal or Labour Supporter but hope the liberals get into the House of reps as I think they have better policy and lower spending.
However I don't like the big parties in the senate as they push through there own agenda like work choicesMatt Sunday 15 August, 2010 - 3:52 PM -
Shut up comrad Lenny!! Clearly you belong in the unions!!
Stuff Labor - I hate how they create disincentives in the individual - I mean, why the hell would I work 40 hours, when I can get nearly the say take home pay for only working 30 hours?!?! Or better still, remain on the doll!!
Let the universe conspire so as to bring us back to a Liberally run country. Bring back incentive to strive for your own goals and achieve them!! Go the Libs!!

BOTH parties have not addressed the affordable public housing CRISES !
we need apartment blocks they must not be to high !!!with only two or three story apartment's with balconies ,four to six apartment's in each block would be suitable for anyone for a healthy life .
just think affordable public housing would give people a roof over their heads ,once they feel secure and of the street's their health would improve to hold down a job !they would pay taxes and contribute to society .
they could also be given the option to " BUY " and pay of their apartment they are presently occupying .
feeling more secure in the knowledge for a place of their own ,people in general would feel more motivated to invest in carpet's, fridges ,furniture ,drapes ,and so on .
that alone would stimulate our economy .
this would give them a sense of pride & dignity it might even eliminate vandalism . (of there own property )
but most important the rent the people have paid to live in these apartment's would go back to the government to build more housing for the less fortunate in our society .
this is the way it was done throughout all of Europe after the second world war!
why are our "LEADERS " so short sited in this ??????
the way OUR CHILDREN see this with the constantly rising cost of owning their own home is already out of reach for most of our children & taxpayers of the future ! WAKE UP !!!!!!!!!!
sooner or later they all need homes to live in !!!! something need's to be
Done !!!
and I firmly believe time is running out !
SO NO MORE IN THE TO HARD BASKET ,OR PRETEND THIS REAL PROBLEM DOSE NOT EXIST !

The facts are as follows: A Liberal Party endorsed GREED mentality (globally) lost, wiped off, fleeced, whatever way you want to describe it - between 7000 & 10000 BILLION dollars worldwide, versus Labor's 2.5% mismanagement in the BER scheme AND the Insulation fiasco. One is miniscule, the other was a world-wide financial disaster which crippled the financial system (still ongoing), with a possibility of a double dip recession~! The Libs want you to ignore Global Warming, just so that they can financially benefit from continuous COAL mining, irrespective of its effect on rising global temperatures & its obvious affect on our weather & food production (GW relates to extremes of temperatures in BOTH winter & summer). We have a GREED mentality inspired artificially inflated property market (something like 40%). Should treasury increase interest rates to curb inflation, there is every possibility of a property devaluation. The moment that happens, International investors will grab their profits & run, which could quite easily precipitate a rapid property collapse, particularly when people here are unlikely to hang onto depreciated assets (potentially as much as 40%). That flow-on effect would put the squeeze on banks funds, and flow onto new construction, crippling building. We are in the exact same position as the US were just prior to the financial collapse. And you want to put the Libs back in charge of our economy? ARE YOU INSANE? Shares & property are no different to any other traded commodity. Once they exceed their market value, they are at risk of financial correction. The Libs will push this country over the edge & we will once again pay for their financial mismanagement~!

In the US they have lost their life savings/superannuation, their house, their security & their job. There is 10% unemployment and things are still precarious as to whether there will be a double dip GFC. Those lucky to retain their super - returns in the last 5-10 years are going BACKWARDS~! A select few from the Liberal Party (Repugnant Party in the US) have made a killing at YOUR expense~! And YOU want to re-elect these assholes??? Even though we are experiencing a greater incidence of severe storms & flooding in this state, our water reserves are stagnating~! As the temperature climbs, SO does the rate of evaporation~! The perfect example is Darwin - they can get 7 inches of rain in TEN minutes, but it evaporates or disappears just as quickly~! What about the increased threat of firestorms as a direct result of global warming & rising temperatures? The Liberal Party are about ONE thing - company profits, particularly profits from burning or selling COAL~! They are giving our resources away, just to get elected, typically protecting their MATES in industry~! When those resources are finally depleted, we will have ZERO to trade with, apart from LPG gas. COAL will kill the planet & totally destroy our quality of life. And YOU want to re-elect these Capitalist Self Serving PIGS?? ARE YOU BRAIN DEAD?
