DONNA'S GOSSIP:
Gold logie winner Lisa McCune has sent her heartfelt apologies for missing the memorial service for Rob Guest at the Regent Theatre this week. She's on deck at Mission Beach for the filming of Season Three of Channel Nine's Sea Patrol. Former Neighbours star Blair McDonough has also joined the cast. He's packing his bags and heading to Cairns in a few days.
Chopper Read is believed to be amongst the invited guests for the red carpet premiere of the new Guy Ritchie film Rock'n'Rolla on October 27th at the Village Cinemas Jam Factory. The storyline: mobsters, violence and thuggery. It is rated R.
The creator of the controversial Beaconsfield: the musical is encouraged by ticket sales to the Fringe show. Despite at least one of the actors reading from the script during the performance (the show is still in workshop mode), the entire five-night season sold out. The Butterfly Club venue holds about 40 people.
Luke Perry, ex-90210, refused to reprise his role for the remake of the show, which wasn't the success producers were after. But he will appear in Channel Seven's Criminal Minds on October 29th. He has a guest starring role in an episode about child abuse.
Shane Jacobson, star of Kenny, is hoping to make an appearance at the George Cinema next week when the film that made him a star is shown on the big screen. Organisers sure hope he makes it, while his brother and co-writer Clayton is a definite.
San Franciscan Chris Isaak has a dilemma. He has about 40 bright and bold-coloured retro suits and doesn't know which ones he should wear to the Flemington races. He will be in MELBOURNE soon promoting his first ever live album "Chris Isaak - Live in Australia" which was recorded during his last tour.
Star spotting: Comedic genius Magda Szubanski carrying a tray of steaming hot drinks at Il fornaio in St Kilda.
And the good cause of the week is Variety, raffling a 1985 Silver Spirit 1985 Rolls Royce in a bid to raise 60 thousand dollars for the children's charity ambulance fund. www.varietyvic.org.au
