A man has been arrested following a dramatic police pursuit on the Mornington Peninsula.

3AW Drive was inundated with calls from listeners in the area on Friday afternoon.

A silver Holden Commodore, travelling at speed, was seen driving on the footpath and on the wrong side of the road in the Moorooduc area.

Pedestrians, including primary school students leaving school, were forced to jump out of the way.

“He was flying,” Cam told Tom Elliott.

Police confirmed they arrested a man at a service station on Surrey Crescent and Princes Highway at Huntingdale just after 4pm.

There are no reports of any injuries.
