Gerard Healy: Profile
Gerard Healy played 130 games with Melbourne from 1979 to 1985 and then 81 with Sydney from 1986 to 1990. He won the 1988 Brownlow Medal but was forced into retirement at just 29 because of a wrist injury. He is an All-Australian Selector and Victorian Chairman of Selectors for the International Rules Team.
Gerard is the only person in the world to have won a Brownlow Medal and a Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, having now completed six races on Grant Warrington's maxi Skandia. He presented Sports Today with his great friend David Hookes for eight years and now hosts with Dwayne Russell. Gerard is also a qualified physiotherapist and calls AFL footy on 3AW and Fox Footy.
