Jane Edmanson: Profile

Jane has been involved in horticulture for over 35 years and in gardening media since 1989 and as such is one of the most well respected gardeners in Australia.

Apart from working on 3AW's Big Backyard and From The Ground Up she presents regularly on Gardening Australia television.

She has written six books and is regular contributor to gardening magazines and enjoys public speaking and taking garden tours.

Plus, she loves her garden.

What was your first job?

I worked in a toy shop on weekends, then sat on the side of Springvale Road counting cars in the days when cars were few and far between.

What is your most embarrassing on air moment?

On a cold day I said it was "a bit nipply" instead of "nippy". Hmm!

If you could interview anyone (living or dead) who would it be?

Captain Cook would be good - the world's best navigator.
