There's hardly been a more divisive figure in Australian sport this century than James Hird.
Maybe just in Australia, full stop.
Many footy fans hold Hird largely responsible for the supplement scandal that has overshadowed the game for four seasons.
But he still knows a bit about footy.
He's captained a premiership, won a Brownlow and a Norm Smith, played over 250 games, and sat in the hot seat as a senior coach.
So, with the scandal finally over and all suspensions served, Hird could have a place in the media.
Dwayne Russell put the call out to 3AW listeners to see whether or not they would want Hird as a commentator.
And the response was split right down the middle.
