It's a good thing Luke Hodge is good at footy - because his cricket talents leave a little to be desired.
Speaking to Sports Today from a charity clinic at Etihad Stadium, Hodge said his bowling has always been a bit erratic.
"I just got belted to the fence by a couple of kids!" Hodge said.
But the Hawthorn superstar wasn't joking around when it came to the subject of player pay.
As the dispute between the players and the league continues, the prospect of the players boycotting one or more of the pre-season matches looms.
Hodge said no one wants to see it come to that, especially with the JLT Community Series taking the game to regional Australia.
But he said the players think a proportional share of the game's revenue is the fairest outcome.
"The players have put in that much work over the years to build the game to what it is today, we thought it was fair that we have an equal alliance with the revenue of the game," he said.
"Fingers crossed we come to an agreement."
