It remains unclear what caused the death of a one-year-old boy who was found in a car at Kyneton.
The boy, 22 months, was found by a family member in a parked car in Acacia Drive, near the Kyneton Health Centre, just before 3pm on Thursday afternoon.
Paramedics tried to revive the boy after the rear window of the car was smashed but they were unsuccessful in their attempts.
The matter is now in the hands of police, who are preparing a report for the coroner.

Midland Express journalist Chris Yeend told 3AW Drive word had already spread fast in the small country community.
"It's pretty devastating at the moment," he said.
"There's a lot of distraught residents nearby."
While the cause of death is still being established, Yeend said temperatures were extreme in Kyneton today.
"When we jumped in the car to get to the scene, the car was extremely warm," he said.
"You'd think an infant would be sweating in no time.
"It's very uncomfortable, even for an adult."
