Brother of Australian woman missing in Canada makes plea for more help

NEIL MITCHELL

The brother of an Australian lost in Canada has made a plea for more help finding her.

Sophie Dowsley, 34, and her boyfriend Greg Tiffin, 44, have been missing since July 8.

Sophie’s brother, Jamie, told Neil Mitchell time is running out.

“We’re 12 days in. We’re desperate for help,” he said.

“There were two days where they didn’t have any search and rescue staff on the ground, which is hard to comprehend,” Jamie said.

“We feel we need the help of our government.”

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull told Neil earlier on Thursday he is committed to finding Sophie.

Originally from Victoria, Sophie has been living in Canada for the past three years.

Friends say she regularly went on hiking trips.
