Only ‘Melbourne bubble’ cares about lobsters, says Matthew Guy

Jacqui Felgate

Opposition Leader Matthew Guy denies his dinner with Tony Madafferi at the Lobster Cave has affected his ‘tough on crime’ message.

Mr Guy told Tom Elliott a recent trip to regional Victoria suggested it was only a ‘Melbourne bubble’ that cared about his now infamous meal.

“No one outside of the bubble in Melbourne was talking about this,” Mr Guy said.

“What they were talking about is around cost of living, electricity prices, crime.

“We’ve got politicians talking about where they’re born, their birth certificates, lobsters – all this kind of stuff.

“People are sick to death of hearing this, they want to hear policies.”
