  • Pity Neil didn't look as hard at the organisers of the anti carbon tax rally. Pathetic radio at it's best :p

        • As I said in a previous comment, could the police have done anything right in the eyes of the protesters? They had no intention of moving on peacefully. I would like to know how people expect the police to move protesters along that want to fight, that want maximum media exposure and expect no legal ramifications for their actions? It is about time that some of the protesters faced serious legal consequences for the injuries they cause police through biting, kicking, throwing urine, throwing objects and all manner of violent activity that they get away with.

            • Mitchell ask the question; Was the police response any different to what we've been used to?.Lay answers; "No",and Mitchell leaves it at that. Ken,please,it was as obvious as the proverbial canine testicular bundle that the pussy foot approach used by previous regimes has been placed where it belongs,in the rubbish skip of history, and not before time.

              • I am a little surprised and concerned to see Mitchell taking such an untenable position on such an important issue. Fewer competitors in any market increase the incidence of price fixing, prevents a free and competitive market and decreases the overall tax revenue of a nation. In addition much of the revenue generated within a given country goes out of that country and back to the home country of the multinational corporation. The unfortunate truth is that this situation has grown to such a point that nations simply cannot generate sufficient tax revenue to service the people. However the people simply cannot pay any more and still survive. It has to be abundantly obvious to everyone where this will lead. In addition we have witnessed the shylock bankers grow in wealth and power to the extent they now control entire nations completely. If not for the shylocks Greece would not have supported the blockade which amounts to a war crime and genocide of Palestine. By association the shylocks are clearly and overtly controlling wars. Of course not a single war could occur without the support of the shylocks. There is now an abundance of evidence to confirm that even with all the money in the world a shylock will never transcend that status and become a productive member of any society. And behind every corporation, financial institution and religion is the same handful of people. Behind EVERY substantial source of revenue is the same few people. It has been the same families for hundreds of years. Capitalism is the answer but IT MUST BE CAPPED. You cant hold beck the water indefinitely by putting a finger in the dyke. The pressure of the people is growing through necessity and it will continue to grow.

                • Since when was removing your name tag and then punching peaceful protesters in the head part of the job description for Victorian Police Force member?

There is much evidence to the fact the head impacts can lead to dementia much later in life (my father died at 64 of dementia and was king hit some years earlier by a fool who mistaken thought the my father was the owner of a dog that used to run circles around the greyhounds he walked in local park. I'll never know if he killed my father).

While all professions have their share of psychopaths, Victoria police seems to have a disproportionate share amongst those who broke up the peaceful demonstration which was at ALL times peaceful.

                  • What a bunch of misguided tosspots! Ask each and every one of them what they are there for and I'll bet over 90% have no idea. They see a protest and leave the dole queue their in to run along and join in. If any of them actually had any brains they'd be far more dangerous. The Police have a hard enough job fighting real crime without these jobless no-hopers wasting their or our time. GET A JOB!
