Greens yet to decide on mining tax

Greens-Bandt-Milne-Brown-172x115 The Greens are yet to decide whether they'll support the Gillard government's mining tax through the Senate, and are unhappy with the deal reached with the independents to see the bill through the lower house.

    • Gillard's personal popularity rise probably had more to do with her being out of the country for part of the time. Also playing mind games with Kevin over foreign policy probably helped.
You are right Neil, the popularity of the Opposition Leader is irrelevant, rather it is the 30% primary vote and the looming disaster that implies that is the issue-though you'd wonder given the treatment by the Canberra Press spinning for all they're worth about a rise in popularity as the main issue.

We had the old Julia, the new Julia now she is re-inventing again as the tough-as-nails Julia. Give me a break.

        • Hopefully by the next election I'll be old enough and rich enough not to give a stuff about the result. The rest of you can suffer in your jocks :p

            • The only true poll as to popularity or otherwise is an election. Bring it on. All I have seen and continue to see in Gillard and her comrades is breathtaking rank incompetence
and jaw dropping stupidity in decision making and indecision across the three cardinal areas of responsible, effective cabinet government i.e administration, finance and her favourite - policyeeeee-on-the-run! An abject disgraceful mess in every way in my view and that of every person I know!

              • Gillard is a disgrace.
A pathological liar and has deliberately vandalised our economy.
The climate change fraud is a proven con as the discredited IPCC latest leaked report confirms.
Gillard and her whole untrustworthy Labor govt should hold their heads in shame for the despicable lies, mindless spending and billion dollar failures.
Election needed now before we are overrun with unauthorised opportunists flooding our country and burdening our nation with the wretched many new taxes we are departing with.

                • What a disgrace. No respect.
Gillard is no leader & it is cringe worthy to watch.
Touchy feely towards other leaders this past week or so has been disgraceful.
Gillard has no idea how to act and soon as she opens her mouth and that fishwife voice, one is left with such revulsion and disgust, let alone when she fires off in the parliament.
This is agonising to have this shocking Labor govt & Gillard for another two years.
Totally ashamed of Gillard, the unemployable boyfriend, the deceitfulness, the continual lies, incompetence and the shocking dubious past that has been closed down from all scrutiny.
Most loathed disgraceful PM and govt in Australias history.

                  • We all thought her work choices mob had fixed the Qantas debarkle but it now appears it was all smoke and mirrors. Looks like they are even going to struggle against a bunch of nurses.
