Bill Shorten to lead Labor Party?

Politics changed forever?

JG LISTEN: Julia Gillard went from smiling at morning coffee to being very forthright in Sunday afternoon's presser. Listen to her as she details why Labor can form a 'stable government'.

Gillard 'will regret this forever'

jG HINCH: By 'pulling one on' as they say she virtually turned it into a campaign by two Opposition leaders. She did not have the oomph and power of incumbency that usually translates into votes for a PM. Click the image on the right for Hinch's scathing editorial.

  • I was really looking forward to last Saturday.
I enthusiastically woke up early and woke my wife, later we got out of bed and my wife said
â??Donâ??t forget we have to Vote todayâ??
    Uh? I asked,
She said, â??Iâ??ve been telling you all week, Saturday is ELECTION DAYâ??.
Crikey, wasnâ??t I glad she told me that after wards.
I wouldnâ??t have looked forward to that.

    • Bill Shortens like a snake in the grass and will strike Gillard when she least expects. The former boss of Australia's 'Weakest' Union thinks he'll be the next Bobby Hawke!
He's certainly got a lot in common with the 'Silver Bodgie'; they're both 'puppet' material, only worthy of dancing to somebody else's tune when their strings are pulled.
Hawke's puppeteer was Sir Peter "Dance for me Bobby" Abeles!
Any guesses as to who Shortens will be...???

        • I disagree that Bill Shorten is a snake in the grass. I had the pleasure of dealing with Bill many years ago, he helped us in the horse racing industry, recieve better working conditions and better wages. He infact came to my house had breakfast and lissened to all of our concerns.Thats more than i can say about most gov people.

          • Gerard, you are correct again. The Labor Party Caucus is not all that happy with Gillard. I would not be surprised to see our third Socialist PM in three years.
And what perks does a 58 day PM get, that should go to more deserving people in our Community.

            • The Greens appear to be very happy. It's obvious they don't realise or understand that the Aussie voter's were not happy with either of the major parties, so all they got was a protest vote. It's not as if they actually got all those votes because the public agreed with their policies. Their professionalism leaves a lot to be desired. A bit of a worry in the Senate.

              • No more bloodletting please. I favoured the replacement of Kevin Rudd but if Julia Gillard can form a government can we please NOT have other candidates undermining her & jockeying for her position.
