  • If the police went back to the minimum height requirement of 6' they'd get a whole lot more respeck. Notice all the police accused of corruption are around the 5'5" mark. Coincidence? I think not. :p

      • Good to see Acting Chief Commisioner Ken Lay is having a bash at the real issues.

        • How about they ban all the midget police officers as well. Half of them couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag let alone protect the community! What a joke.

          • Mr Lay, Forget about the uniform and keeping up appearances. Please put more focus on Domestic violence.

            • Steve, you are a bit naïve. People do make false allegations. People in power do act according to their egos rather than the facts. The abuse of power is what people are worried about. And this can often involve innocent people.

              • Its about trust and confidence. If the person in front of you looks like a slob then what amount of trust and confidence are you going to have in them.

                • "New grooming regulations are being enforced and facial hair, alternative haircuts, tattoos and body piercings will be targeted"???
Can Members with Scottish heritage wear a kilt as operational uniform? Hijabs and Turbans have been introduced. Too many double standards at VicPol.

                  • Unfortunately Ken Lay, Simon Overland, and Steve Fontana are out of the same softly softly approach to policing as Christine Nixon, and for the past decade the Metropolitan Police in London. Look where that has got all of us. We in the future need a zero tolerance atitude Chief Commissioner of Police as per Police Chief of New York & Los Angelas.
