A non-political protest?

Occupy Melb KEN LAY'S SAY: Neil Mitchell came out firing against the Occupy Melbourne protesters this morning, revealing that one of the main organisers of the movement, Jake Wishart, works for Greens MP Adam Bandt. This is the story that Police Minister Peter Ryan earned Ken Lay the respect from rank and file officers.

  • So softly softly touchy feely is about to take pride of place again.
I presume Nixon and Overland will be returned as consultants.
Yet again Peter Ryan promises the world and delivers a GPS.

    • As a serving police officer, I am excited by this decision. Unlike his predeccesors, Ken Lay won't become involved in silly office politics and self indulgent behaviour. Hopefully Ted doesn't pin his epaulettes on like Brumby did with Overland!

      • what on earth are you on about Paddy?? I have many family members in the police and they seem very happy with Ken Lay. Nixon & Overland were products of Labor, not Ryan.

        • Mylene, are you suggesting it was similar to Labor's international search for Simon Overland - as it was known back then?

          • This bloke worked the sreets unlike the other 2 who worked a desk or worked a room at a social event.
A hard working honest cop is Ken Lay. Much needed stability from a cop who has respect from his troops.

              • Please. Another top cop that sounds as strong and proud as a character from the muppets. I guess having a speeding fine when you are fronting the anti speeding campaign for years gets you the top job, what a pure joke.

                  • It's a surprise when I spoke with Ken some years ago he remarked "Dale I wouldn't wish it on your worst enemy & they couldn't pay him enought to take on the Roll of CM"
perhaps the Premier has raised the Salary Cap
                    Good luck Ken:-)

                    • Great news, Ken is a true cop and not a political muppet. Get the force back to the job of policing instead of pandering to all the civil liberty groups and polical correctness. Ken is the man for the job and has done the hard yards working his way through the ranks. The last 2 foreigners spent all thier time doing courses and not policing.
