Real community, kids playing in the street/court, talking to your neighbours, real Australian people at call centres rather than voice recognition and off shore people with bad english
jeff kennett and his Privatisation scam is about to end
Trams are a tourist attraction.Ted Bailleau should look on the 3AW website ans see the fun the old tram conductors are having.Bring back the W class trams and the conductors. This would increase employment and restore the tourism prominance that Victoria urgently needs
Gosia.Talk to your neighbours? most cant even rattle off one word let alone a conversation! The Australia we all once knew is long gone, all the blow ins in their little (But getting larger) groups not mixing with anyone but their own type or cranky bloody religion.Try and talk if you want but you probably end up with a knife in your guts these days.Call me racist if you like, thats the card the do-gooders pull out at the drop of a hat anyway !
Spot on Darrell. The northern suburbs of Melbourne are strikingly similar to the sth/west of Sydney now. Gangs and groups who refuse to mix in with Australians. Also bring back the days when if you misbehaved you got a clip round the ears. Nowadays our police are too concerned about keeping their pony tail and scruffy beard - and the teenagers are too busy about wearing their jeans as low as possible.
If, Jeff was leader he would find something to flog,to pay for all the bad management of the previous mob as he did before>!
no attendents at petrol stations it will be another reason to put petrol up,but i would like all help lines to be real people and in this country.
@Steve. The TAC and the ambulance service are crying out to be privatized. What could possibly go wrong?? :p
wow a light article about lift attendants to blatant racism. There are some 'old world' opinions that need to be left behind.
@ Darrell 9.26am - couldn't agree more. Chatting to a neighbour who is gardening etc is long gone. My neighbourhood is slowly being infiltrated by Asians and they do not communicate. Call me racist, it's a fact. They either cannot or will not speak English and a lot will avoid eye contact to boot. I always greet passersby with a smile and greeting when walking around the neighbourhood and it makes me angry that this pleasant courtesy is dying out because 99% of 'them' do not return the courtesy. Australia as we knew it is sadly disappearing.
