  • Best we forget about Australian history altogether. How about a statue of Homer Simpson instead? :p

        • There should not be a public memorial for police murderers! I have never understood the "hero" status given to common criminals. The public memorial should be for the policemen who died whilst doing their duty!

          • Oh dear Greg Davies is appalled! some police do not want a memorial to Ned Kelly because he was a "Cop Killer." Yes, after the predominately English cops raped the dirt poor Irish catholic paddy's mother and sister. After they hunted for him in the bush carrying a body bag with them. Records show his trial to be totally rigged by the then corrupt, racist authorities. They were different times and old Ned was pushed beyond his limit and prepared to die for his principles.

                • Joe Garra, read the truth into this man's history, the police tormented his and other families constantly and were not in uniform at Stringbark Creek - hope it is not too difficult for you to comprehend.

                  • He was persecuted and prosecuted because he was a notorious criminal.

The gang ambushed two cops and were confronted by the other two's refusal to surrender and they killed two. They then became officially outlaws. What is it you supporters don't get?

                    • The coppers were more to blame than Ned. He lived in a very different time (before the OPI) Give him a hero's send off.
