Winner of the December 2012 Momentum/3AW Small Business Award

We are pleased to advise that the winner of the December 2012 3AW Momentum Awards is:

Super Speak

Super Speak has designed a unique educational programme that connects with the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS), the Australian Curriculum and NAPLAN.

Through a mix of public speaking and drama-based activities, the programme enables students to become more confident, flexible and happy communicators for life.

Since launching in 2007, Super Speak has grown to employ 6 people and teach public speaking and drama skills to over 2000 children each year across Victoria.

SBMS was impressed by the company’s innovative approach to educating young people to become more confident, and to integrate their programmes with Victorian and national educational standards in written and oral communication.

The company has grown from part-time business to employing 6 people in less than 5 years, and interest for the programme is now coming from interstate and overseas.

Super Speak was able to identify a gap in the market and fill it. Their approach has been professional and very appropriate to their young market, and they have also found ways to develop products suitable for other target groups through their Workplace Training workshops and private classes.
