Collingwood skipper Scott Pendlebury could be sidelined for the rest of the season.

The Pies star has confirmed he broke his finger in the third quarter of the Magpies’ 15-point win over Gold Coast on Saturday.

He will undergo surgery tonight.

“I sort of knew in the moment I’d done something that wasn’t quite right,” he said today.

“I thought I’d dislocated my finger and tried to pull it back into place.

“After the the game I was a little bit concerned and X-rays this morning confirmed that (he had broken it).”

Pendlebury has averaged 28 disposals and more than six tackles in another consistent season for the Magpies.

His departure is likely to see emerging youngster Jordan De Goey spend more time in the Collingwood midfield for Sunday’s clash against West Coast at Etihad Stadium.
