Restrictions have eased and conditions on Melbourne’s roads have returned to normal.

After 105 days without being struck, someone has hit the infamous Montague Street Bridge in South Melbourne.

Chris Miller from the Department of Transport confirmed the incident.

“We’ve got a small furniture van wedged under the Montague Street Bridge,” he told Ross and Russel.

The vehicle is stuck in the right city-bound lane.

“We’ll try and let down his tyres first and see if that will get him out, if not, we’ll need heavy haulage,” Chris Miller said.

It’s causing delays in both directions.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
