Neil Mitchell defends Dee and Darren Jolly over heritage-listed home
Neil Mitchell has come to the defence of controversial reality TV stars Dee and Darren Jolly, who have been threatened with legal action after they demolished a heritage-listed home.
The couple, who won The Block, have come under fire from the City of Boroondara for breaching their building permit on the East Kew home.
The couple have described the home as a ‘bloody mess’ and Neil Mitchell all but agreed.
He questioned whether it was too easy for homes to gain heritage listing.
‘I must say, it just baffles to look at this place the Jollys are in trouble for knocking down,’ the 3AW Mornings host said.
‘It’s a tiny, run down looking place.
‘They’re in trouble for knocking that down, but the bloke who knocked down the $20 million mansion in Toorak got a tick?
‘Something’s wrong.’
