Property expert speaks on effects of Victoria’s ‘punishing land tax regime’

Property council Victorian executive director Cath Evans told Ross and Russ that the tax burden across the property sector is “very high”.

Victoria’s property sector has recorded the lowest confidence levels in Australia, which has raised doubts over the state’s ability to keep up with housing demand.

“We have seen foreign capital … not willing to invest in Victoria and that money going elsewhere,” Ms Evans said on 3AW Breakfast.
