Victoria in midst of deadliest drowning summer in more than a decade

Victoria is having its deadliest summer in the water in more than a decade, with Life Saving Victoria again stressing the message of playing it safe.

“We’ve already had nine drownings in Victorian waterways since the start of summer and that’s more than double the five-year average,” Greg Scott, LSV operations manager told 3AW.

“The last time we saw this number of drownings at this time in summer was over 10 years ago.”
