A Melbourne man has started a campaign he hopes will save lives after tragically losing his 25-year-old daughter.

Morgan Mansell was 25 when she died from melanoma — the most common cancer in Australians aged 15-49 — in 2017.

Her father, Peter Mansell, has founded Check4Spots in her honour, urging Australians to check their skin on January 30.

“She got the melanoma a year or two before she passed with a mole on her ear. She went off to the doctors and sadly they failed to diagnose it at the time and we lost her within the year,” Mr Mansell told Neil Mitchell.

“The message is that if you are concerned about any suspicious spots, you know your body better than anyone else … get that second opinion if necessary because if she had pushed harder maybe she’d still be with us today.”
