The Premier has been awkwardly caught out on social media promoting the public holiday for the grand final.

Daniel Andrews’ Facebook account posted on the page of a Fitzroy bar about an event on Thursday night featuring songs by Canadian rapper Drake.

The post was a mock cover of one of Drake’s albums.

So, 3AW’s state political reporter, Lauren Hilbert, decided to quiz the Premier on his “favourite” Drake song after it was posted.

“You’ve caught me on the hop,” Mr Andrews responded.

“If that’s the biggest story of the day, then thank you very much.”

While there’s no doubt it’s a seemingly harmless incident on the surface, some have questioned whether it’s important social media accounts truly reflect the politician they promote.
