1 in 4 of Victoria’s trucks aren’t complying with the law.

Victoria Police ran an operation pulling over 113 trucks over three days whereby 36 defect notices were issued.

The Greensborough Highway Patrol discovered everything from cracks in in vehicle windscreens to some vehicles alarmingly having cracks in the chassis along the wells.

The highway blitz also found:

  • 4 drivers test positive to drug tests
  • 2 drivers with cancelled licenses
  • 1 unlicensed driver
  • 4 un-roadworthy vehicles

Despite these alarming statistics, Sgt John Sybenga from the Greensborough Highway Patrol told Neil Mitchell most drivers were doing the right thing.
