Mexican drug ring foiled as 300kg of cocaine seized in Melbourne
Two Mexican men will face court in Melbourne today after the seizure of 300kg of cocaine.
One of the men, a 34-year-old from Mexico, arrived in a Melbourne earlier this month allegedly with a small amount of cocaine.
But subsequent investigations uncovered a massive 300kg in Altona, disguised as a shipment of coffee and coco from Mexico.
Further raids were carried out yesterday in Port Melbourne and Balaclava.
A second man, 33-years-old also from Mexico, was arrested.
Both will face court in Melbourne today facing charges that carry a maximum term of life in prison.
Police say the drugs are worth $105 million.
