German Nico Rosberg has taken out a drama-filled Formula 1 Grand Prix at Albert Park.

The Mercedes driver edged out teammate and defending champ Lewis Hamilton in what turned out to be a far more thrilling race than many predicted.

Sebastian Vettel finished third.

A shocking smash involving Fernando Alonso and Esteban Gutierrez after 19 laps had everybody holding their breath.

Thankfully, both drivers escaped unhurt.

Aussie Daniel Ricciardo recorded the fastest lap of the race, but couldn’t find his way onto the podium.

He finished fourth in his Red Bull after a brilliant drive.
