3AW caller details dramatic police chase of BMW in Melbourne

UPDATE: Police are still on the hunt for a man who led them on a dangerous and dramatic chase across Melbourne on Tuesday.
A 26-year-old man is wanted over the incident, after he fled from an attempted arrest following reports of a drug deal at the intersection of A’Beckett and Queen Streets around midday.
A black BMW with a broken windshield was seen speeding down the wrong side of the Princes Highway with three police cars in pursuit in Flemington shortly after.
3AW Afternoons caller Geordie witnessed the chase and gave a harrowing account of what unfolded in front of him.

The car was then seen in Footscray and eventually back in the CBD.
Other 3AW callers reported seeing a gun and cash being thrown from the car.
The black BMW was found dumped on Downie Street, off Flinders Street, shortly before 12.45pm.
The wanted man was last seen on the corner of Flinders Lane and Spencer Street getting into a taxi.
Police said there were no injuries to members of the public and no other vehicles were damaged during the incident.
Despite earlier reports suggesting otherwise, no shots were fired by police.
Police believe they know who the man is.
He is described has being caucasian, having red hair and is wearing a blue polo shirt with a red logo.
