3AW callers detail drama as teenage driver causes Eastlink traffic chaos

A stolen Ford Mustang, with a 16-year-old at the wheel, has caused traffic chaos while being chased by police on Eastlink this morning.

Members from the State Highway Patrol tried to intercept the mustang in a supermarket carpark in Cranbourne at around 9:30am this morning, but it sped off.

Multiple people called in to 3AW Mornings earlier to detail the drama.

Police successfully deployed stop sticks on Clairmont Avenue in Cranbourne West, where the teenager was arrested.

The car was stolen from a residential address from Rossiter Retreat in Cranbourne North at about 4:30am this morning.
