3AW callers have provided potential leads to the homicide squad investigating the 1980 murder of Thomas Cooper.

The teenager was shot dead while in the car with his girlfriend at the Ricketts Point carpark at Beaumaris in August 1980.

The Herald Sun’s Keith Moor spoke about the cold case with Ross and John last week.

He said that prompted two calls with information, one possibly linking the son of an underworld figure to the murder.

Another claimed they may have also seen the alleged murder around the same time.
