3AW Drive’s Council Watch: St Kilda business owner angry over sign fight

A St Kilda business owner has accused his local council of a double standard.

Gym owner Peter Ellis told Tom Elliott on 3AW Drive he’s not allowed to place advertising signs on a-frames out the front of his business.

He said the City of Port Phillip were ‘micro-managing the situation’ and warned him an a-frame was a potential hazard for pedestrians and drivers.

But his local MP has two out the front of his office, right next door.

‘Why would there be a difference, Tom?’
