A teenage boy needs surgery after he and three of his friends were bashed, slashed and threatened with a gun at Bentleigh.

The alleged incident happened shortly after 11pm on Thursday.

Well-known self defence trainer Avi Yemini told 3AW Mornings about the attack, which left a teen he knew lacerated.

Police have confirmed they’re investigating.

Three men, understood to be aged between 30-35, approached a group of teenage boys near McDonalds on Jasper Road.

Mr Yemini said the boys were told to line up against a wall, where the offenders were deciding ‘which one they’d shoot.’

One offender then pulled out a knife and started making threats.

Mr Yemini said one of the boys was slashed on the hand while trying to protect his face from the knife.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
