3AW police reporter describes ‘chaotic and confronting’ scene as protests turn violent

A “chaotic” and “confronting” scene has unfolded in Melbourne’s CBD as anti-war protesters turn violent.

The protest, which took place as the Land Forces expo begins at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, saw demonstrators clash with police and horse manure thrown.

3AW police reporter Madelaine Burke was at the scene and told Tom Elliott she was troubled by what she witnessed.
