3AW reporter reveals ‘surprising’ details about Victoria’s youth offender ankle bracelet trial

3AW has exclusively revealed the number of youths fitted with an ankle bracelet so far under the state government’s two-year trial to combat youth crime.

3AW State Political Reporter, Stefanie Waclawik, told Heidi Murphy, “[It] is a very small number, and when you think about it, it’s a two-year trial for up to 50 young offenders.”

Shadow Attorney-General James Newbury told 3AW Mornings, ” I think it just goes to show you that the government had a press release and wanted to sound tough with their announcement, but they’re not actually doing anything about it.”
