3AW has cemented its place as Australia’s home of News, Talk and Sport by winning big at the radio industry’s night of nights.

THE WINNERS

  • Best On-Air Team AM – Ross and John
  • Best News and Current Affairs Presenter – Neil Mitchell
  • Best Sports Presenter – Tim Lane
  • Best Sports Event Coverage – 3AW Football

It was Neil Mitchell’s fourth consecutive gong, and 19th ACRA.

For Ross Stevenson and John Burns, it was their third consecutive win, and comes hot on the heel of a ratings survey in which they led their close rival by an astonishing ten percentage points with a 19.2% market share.

Peers voted Tim Lane as Australia’s premier sports broadcaster, acknowledging his accurate, intelligent and analytical work on 3AW Football and the Macquarie Radio Summer of Cricket.

3AW Football ?continued to celebrate recent ratings success, winning the ACRA for Best Sports Event Coverage ?for their 2014 AFL Grand Final ?coverage.

‘Every weekday, Melburnians wake up to Australia’s number one breakfast program with Ross and John, followed by Australia’s current affairs leader, Neil Mitchell. Adding two ACRAs for sport reaffirms 3AW as the home of news, talk and sport on Australian radio,’ 3AW Content Director Nicole Denton said.

3AW was also a finalist in nine other awards.

The Macquarie Radio Network won another three awards, including Best Talk Presenter (Ben Fordham, 2GB).
