40,000 motorists impacted as petrol station mistakenly charges double for fuel
Costco has come under fire after double charging around 40,000 motorists who filled up with petrol at their outlets across the country on January 2.
The supermarket giant’s EFTPOS provider released a statement, apologising for the problem and pledging to issue refunds as soon as possible.
Nikky, who was one of the customers affected, says she hasn’t been impressed with Costco’s lack of communication to its customers.

“Costco has virtually done nothing to support my concerns,” she told Heidi Murphy on 3AW Drive.
“I don’t know when the money is going to be (refunded), how many other people out there don’t know that they’ve been double charged.”
