A barista gig in NSW state parliament is paying $73,000 a year.

It’s been branded “extreme” by the owner of Axil Coffee Roasters.

The two job offers captured Tom Elliott’s attention on Thursday. The average barista wage is a tick over $50,000.

“That is an extreme amount of money to be a barista, I’d have thought,” Dave Makin said.

“Surely some of it has to be danger money for having to deal with politicians?”
