A burst water main has lifted part of the road in north Melbourne 

Abbottsford and Arden streets are closed and earlier trams also couldn’t get through.

The water main is near a construction site but it’s not yet know what caused it to burst.

Adam Attard from Eastern Traffic Management was among the first on scene shortly after 5am. 

He says it’ll take more than a day to fix.
