Victoria is banning school banking.

It comes on the back of concerns banks had been using “inappropriate tactics” to lure children and promote credit cards.

Consumer group Choice is now calling for other states to follow Victoria’s lead and outlaw the controversial school financial literacy programs, such as the Commonwealth Bank’s well-known “Dollarmites” program.
